About the Project

Iraq's Payment Gateway, Built for Everyone

Al-Saqi is an Iraqi e-payment gateway that issues credit cards and connects cardholders to a nationwide merchant network. We built their public-facing web platform — a dynamic landing page backed by a full CMS so the Al-Saqi team can manage every piece of content without touching code.

The Platform

The site goes beyond a static landing page. Every section — hero copy, features, announcements, and promotions — is managed through a content management system built specifically for their team. No developer needed for day-to-day updates.

The standout feature is the Merchant Finder — an interactive map and search tool that lets any Al-Saqi cardholder locate the nearest merchants that accept their card, filtered by category and distance.

What We Built

  • A fully CMS-driven landing page where the client controls all content independently
  • An interactive merchant finder with map integration, category filters, and location-based search
  • A clean, trustworthy design that communicates financial credibility to first-time cardholders
  • A responsive layout that works seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices

The Challenge

Payment platforms operate in a space where trust is everything. Every design decision — typography, colour, layout density — was made to project reliability and professionalism to users who may be applying for a credit card for the first time.

  • CMS-Powered Content Management
  • Interactive Merchant Finder Map
  • Location-Based Merchant Search
  • Category Filtering for Merchants
  • Credit Card Application Flow
  • Fully Responsive Design
  • Dynamic Announcements & Promotions
  • Multi-section Landing Page

How It Was Built

Our process
01 .
Discovery & Requirements

Worked with the Al-Saqi team to map out every content section, define the CMS structure, and scope the merchant finder feature — including data format, map provider, and filter logic.

02 .
UX & Visual Design

Designed a layout that balances marketing impact with financial credibility. Every component was tested for trust signals — clear CTAs, clean typography, and a colour palette that communicates reliability.

03 .
CMS & Backend Development

Built a custom CMS that gives the Al-Saqi team full control over the landing page — text, images, promotions, and announcements — without any developer involvement.

04 .
Merchant Finder Integration

Developed the interactive merchant map with real-time location detection, category-based filtering, and a searchable merchant directory — connected to a manageable merchant database.

Project Insights

Behind the
decisions we made.

Building Trust Through Design

Al-Saqi serves users who are often applying for a credit card for the first time. The design had to feel as trustworthy as a bank. We ran multiple rounds of design review focused specifically on trust signals — spacing, iconography, tone of copy, and colour — before settling on the final visual direction.

The Merchant Finder Complexity

The merchant finder looks simple on the surface but required careful architecture underneath — a manageable merchant database that the client can update, live map rendering, GPS-based proximity sorting, and graceful fallbacks when location permissions are denied. Getting it to feel instant was the core technical challenge.
